Member Campaign Materials

A CHANH supported Neighbourhood House Initiative

Neighbourhood Houses gain more support from local community leaders and political actors when they can tell their story effectively.

Over 2024-25, CHANH is offering to support Neighbourhood Houses to develop great storytelling materials, highlighting:

  • What do we need?
  • Who are we?
  • What is our reach in the community?
  • How are we helping you?

The goal is to answer these questions in an attractive, engaging 2-4 page information resource about your neighbourhood house and your direction as an organisation.

Development of this resource with CHANH is an opt in choice for members. Neighbourhood Houses can choose whether the Manager will lead this process, or whether a staff member, committee member or sub committee will work with CHANH to complete the materials (this page is not password protected, and can be shared).

The process to create the Campaign Materials for your Neighbourhood House will take place in three parts:

  • Part 1 – Opt in by completing this survey and submitting the following documents to networker@chanh.org.au:
    • Current Strategic Plan
    • Most recent Annual Report
    • Any Mission/ Vision/ Values/ Code of Conduct type documents
    • Most recent NHVic Survey Data
    • Most recent NHVic Community Value Statement

These documents will be reviewed and a short description of your organisation drafted to respond to the questions ‘Who are we?’ and ‘ What is our reach?’

  • Part 2 – Meet face to face with Jane Grimwood to develop your ASK – responding to the questions ‘What do we need? and ‘How are we helping you?’
  • (Part 2 will be arranged once Part 1 Survey and Materials are received from participating members.)

Outcomes from this discussion will be used to create a first draft of your campaign materials.

  • Part 3 – Review and finalise. Your manager will have the opportunity to complete an review and edit on the materials. The final layout presentation will be decided on a case by case basis – you may have an existing style and marketing program you want to use, the network could produce in CANVA, or an external designer might be engaged through your community connections.

This resource can potentially be given to politicians, stakeholders, council officers, bureaucrats and potential partners to pave a way of working together, secure funding and promote your house and the neighbourhood house sector locally, statewide and at a national level.
